Whichever the case, we will be taking a much needed break. Our last day will be Friday 22nd December 2023 and we will reopen for Monday 15th January 2023.
We would like to thank all of you for your support this year and allowing us to help progress you on your health journey |

Our Newest Team Members |
For most of you in Balclutha you will have already met Daz (Darlene) our newest team member helping to organise your appointments. Daz has been in the hair industry in Milton for many years and we are so excited to have her be a part of our business. For our Dunedin people you may see her on occasions when we need the extra support - when Michelle has one of her rare holidays. Dr. Quinn Mahoney has also started with us while Aidan is on her mat leave. He is both Balclutha and Dunedin. |
Thank you Amber |
We would like to say a massive thank you to Amber Field for without her premise at mask beauty and hair along with her continual support this year, we would not have been able to start up our Balclutha practice. Although she is returning to grow her amazing business she will still pop in from time to time to make sure you are all keeping up the mischef ;).
If you’re after a fabulous colour, trim or style Amber is the lady to see in the Clutha district. And lad’s she does a much tidier job than the shearing sheds so hit her up too! |
New Patient App
Keeping with our values of Grow and Connect. We have been working with our booking system providers to create an app that will allow you to view and book upcoming appointments for you and your animals.
The app also allows you to view your diagnostic images (X-rays), any referral notes to be given to Gp’s etc and of course exercises!
What this space as we will notify you when it hits the app stores! |

What’s New with Research? |
Chiropractic and Pregnancy
Did you know that around 50% of pregnant women experience significant of back and pelvic pain. And it makes sense! A mothers body under goes a huge physiological change - her centre of gravity shifts, her ligaments begin to relax, there is an increase in weight plus so many more amazing wonderful changes.
Thankfully, chiropractic care has been shown to help relieve these symptoms in up to 85% of pregnant women, eliminating the need for pain relief medication that may not be ideal for your baby’s health.
A comfortable and mostly pain free pregnancy is certainly desirable, as is a healthy labour and delivery. As the baby progresses down into the birth canal, its important that a mother’s pelvis is able to facilitate the delivery. The importance of maintaining proper pelvis/spinal alignment and function with regular Chiropractic care is shown in the research - one study found a 24% reduction in labour time for first-time mothers, and 39% reduction for experienced mothers. Another study found that patients who incorporated chiropractic care during their pregnancy had a 50% decrease in the need for painkillers during delivery.
As we say here at OFC, “It’s easier to grow healthy kids than fix broken adults.”
